About the Expo
The IFDS Research Expo celebrates nine years of funding from NSF's TRIPODS Program for the Institute for Foundations of Data Science (IFDS) and its predecessor institutes.
In 2017, UW–Madison, the University of Washington, and UC–Santa Cruz each received Phase I TRIPODS grants. In 2020, these three institutions joined forces with the University of Chicago to propose a joint institute — IFDS — which was subsequently funded under Phase II of the TRIPODS program.
